About Us
At Tosher's Backyard, a proudly Black, queer-owned vegan company, we are committed to fostering inclusivity, sustainability, and holistic wellness. Through thoughtfully crafted vegan products and holistic services, we empower individuals on their journey to wellness—nourishing the mind, body, and spirit while building a more sustainable and inclusive world.
We believe wellness is a universal right and strive to create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and inspired to thrive. By blending tradition, innovation, and intentional care. Tosher’s Backyard offers more than products—we cultivate a community rooted in compassion, connection, and the shared pursuit of holistic living.

Our Passion, Our Mission
I’m Janan Tostevin-Sheridan, 27, born and raised in Virginia, with time spent living and traveling across the East Coast.
My work lives at the intersection of healing, community, and embodiment. I don’t just teach wellness—I live inside a practice of it that is constantly shaped by the people I love, the land I’m on, and the communities I move through. I believe healing is not something we do alone. It is something we build, together, in relationship, in rhythm, and in care.
Over time, my path has become less about fitting into traditional definitions of wellness and more about creating spaces where people can actually breathe. Spaces where nervous systems can soften. Where we can remember ourselves without performance or pressure. Where rest is not a reward, but a right.
That intention is what led me to create Toshers Backyard.
Toshers Backyard is a place where people can show up as they are—queer, trans, neurodivergent, tired, joyful, uncertain—and still be met with belonging.
We host workshops, seasonal events, mutual care practices, and moments of simple togetherness.
I know what it feels like to move through spaces that are overstimulating, inaccessible, or built without you in mind. I also know what it feels like to find even a small pocket of safety—and how that can change everything. My work is about expanding those pockets into something shared and sustainable.
My approach to wellness is holistic, embodied, and deeply relational. I work with the understanding that the mind, body, spirit, and environment are not separate systems—they are constantly in conversation. I focus on nervous system awareness, accessibility, and practices that honor real life rather than ideal conditions.
I also believe in softness as strength.
Softness in how we speak to ourselves. Softness in how we move through conflict. Softness in how we build community structures that don’t replicate harm. Softness as something radical, especially in a world that often demands hardness to survive.
Alongside community work, I also create offerings, where I explore natural, intentional, and earth-based products that support everyday wellness. For me, this is another extension of care—tangible, sensory, and rooted in slowing down.
Everything I do comes back to the same question:
What would it mean to live in ways that actually support our healing, not just our survival?
If you’ve found your way here, I’m glad you did. Whether you’re looking for coaching, community, or simply a reminder that gentleness is possible, you’re welcome here.
Healing is collective. Rest is revolutionary.
We’re building something inclusive, sustainable and wholistic.
